CHADRON, Neb. --- The South Dakota Mines women's basketball team rolled over the Chadron State Eagles, 72-45, Saturday night during a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup in Chadron Nebraska.
The win propelled the 'Rockers to 11-7 on the season and 11-6 in the conference while the Eagles remain winless on the year.
South Dakota Mines led, 17-13, after the first quarter and then registered 20 markers in the second period to nine by the home team as the 'Rockers went into halftime up, 37-22. The visitors poured it on in the second half, outscoring CSC, 35-23, to earn the victory.
SDM shot 45.8 percent from the field Saturday, making good on 27-59 attempts, including a 9-18 performance from behind the arch and were 9-13 from the free throw line. Chadron State shot 31 percent from the field, converting 15-49 attempts, including 1-8 from three-point range, and hit 14-18 from the foul line.
Individually for the 'Rockers,
Michaela Shaklee pace the Hardrockers with 19 points, two rebounds, two steals and one assist.
Madelyn Heiser added 18 points, two rebounds and three steals.
Bailey Johnson and
Juneau Jones both posted eight markers and
Anna Combalia tacked on seven points.
