CHADRON, Neb. --- The South Dakota Mines men's basketball team's late rally fell short Saturday night as the Chadron State Eagles held off the Hardrockers, 63-60, during a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference bout in Chadron, Nebraska.

It was another grind-it-out game between the two rivals. CSC took advantage of home-court advantage and grabbed a six-point edge at the half, 28-22.  The Hardrockers did outscore the home team, 38-35, over the final 20 minutes but couldn't overtake the Eagles down the stretch.

The 'Rockers finished shooting 52.4 percent from the field making good on 22-42 attempts, including 7-17 from downtown and was 9-16 from the free throw line. The added 31 rebounds, five steals, two blocks and 10 assists.

The Eagles converted 24-53 attempts and shot 45.3 percent from the field, including 8-11 on three-pointers, and was 8-11 on free throws. They collected 23 rebounds, 11 assists and eight steals.

Individually for the 'Rockers, Wilfred Dickson led the way with 20 points, two assists and one rebound. Brevin Walter contributed with 15 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal. Kolten Mortensen tacked on 12 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
