Hardrocker Men's Basketball Falls in Golden

GOLDEN, Colo. --- The Hardrocker men's basketball teams went to Golden to take on Colorado Mines and momentum went the Orediggers way early and South Dakota Mines wasn't able to recover.

Early in the first half, the two teams would go back and forth. At the first media timeout, Colorado Mines held a 7-5 lead. Colorado Mines would get the first momentum swing of the night, using a 12-0 run to propel them to a 16-5 lead with 11:23 to go in the half. Out of a timeout, the Hardrockers would get things to turn their way a bit, first getting a bucket from Brevin Walter then forcing a turnover. South Dakota Mines would continue to fight but couldn't get the ball to go in the basket, trailing 32-17 with 3:32 to go in the first half. The Orediggers would continue to expand the lead, heading into halftime leading 38-17.

To begin the 2nd half, Kolton Frugoli would hit a three. A couple of minutes later, Frugoli would hit two free throws, cutting the deficit to 38-22. The Hardrockers were not able to get much momentum or cut into the deficit. Going into a timeout with 6:24 remaining, the Hardrockers trailed 56-34 and eventually fell 64-42.
