Hardrocker Men's Basketball Looks to Carry Momentum to 2022

Lakewood, Colo. --- The Hardrocker Men's Basketball team heads to the road to finish up the 2021 season, hoping to continue momentum, taking on Colorado Christian on Thursday evening, before making the short trip to Denver to take on MSU Denver for a 4:00 p.m. game on Saturday afternoon.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1. The Hardrockers won the first game of the season, then lost 4-in-a-row before winning the last non-conference game when they defeated MSU Billings 60-51. Most recently, they have played well in their last couple game, going to overtime against Regis, then defeating Adams State.
2. Offensively, the Hardrockers are shooting 36.1% from three-point range, landing them in the top five of the conference.
3. The Hardrockers have limited opponents' rebounding efforts, allowing 30.3 per game (3rd in the RMAC).
4. Defensively, South Dakota Mines has continued to improve, now 7th in the RMAC, allowing 70.3 points per game.
5. Kolten Mortensen earned RMAC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Adams State. He recorded 9 defensive rebounds and 3 blocks on his way to recording a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
