Hardrocker Men's Basketball Heads to Aberdeen for a Back-to-Back

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- After splitting their home opening weekend, the Hardrocker men's basketball team heads on the road for a pair of games in Aberdeen. On Friday, they take on Northern State for a 6:00 matchup, before a quick turnaround for a 1:00 matchup on Saturday afternoon.

Series History
vs. Northern State
  • These two schools have met just twice in the past.
  • Both outings were close contests with Northern State coming out victorious 75-67 in 2018 and 69-63 most recently (11/15/19).
vs. Augustana
  • South Dakota Mines and Augustana have met 5 times previously with the Hardrockers winning 1.
  • In the most recent matchup, South Dakota Mines was victorious, winning 76-71 (11/16/2019)
Gold Nuggets
  • The Hardrockers return two all-conference selections from last season as Kolten Mortenson and Alejandro Rama were both named Honorable Mention.

Augustana
  • Augustana has started the season 2-0 with wins over Southern Arkansas and #11 Washburn to earn them the #20 ranking in the D2 Media Top-25 Poll.
  • Tyler Riemersma and Isaac Fink average 20.5 and 20 points per game to pace the Vikings.
  • Riemersma adds 14 rebounds a game and has a double-double in each of their first two games.
  • The Vikings do a great job on the glass, averaging 45 rebounds a night and allow an average of just 28 to their opponents.
