Hardrocker Volleyball Sweeps Chadron

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- With their playoff lives on the line, Hardrocker Volleyball did what it needed to do Friday night, taking care of business in three sets against Chadron State.
The first set was back and forth with each team answering each other and neither team getting out to much of a lead. The first big momentum swing went to Chadron State as they scored 4 of 5 points to take a 14-13 lead. The Hardrockers would answer with a huge kill from Dejah Behrend to tie it and then retake the lead 15-14. Later in the set, a Jacey Koethe kill would get the Hardrockers to 20 first, leading 20-18. Chadron State would take a timeout, down 21-18. The Hardrockers would go on to take the first set 25-21.

The Hardrockers dominated the beginning of the second set, going up 10-1 leading to a timeout by Chadron State. It was a balanced attack for the Hardrockers with Victoria Zagorski, Sydney Crites, Lily Bartling, Shyann Bastian and Emma Murphey all contributing. The Hardrockers closed out the second set 25-13.

The third set started similarly to the first, with the Hardrockers up 8-3 early. This time, Chadron State would fight a bit more, cutting the lead to 10-7. The two teams would battle the next couple of minutes until the Hardrockers expanded the lead to 15-10, forcing another Eagles' timeout. The Hardrockers would close out the match with a 25-17 win in the 3rd set.
