Hardrocker Soccer Falls in Final Road Match

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah --- The South Dakota Mines soccer team took on Westminster in a road game on Sunday afternoon. In what was their last road game of the season, the Hardrockers came up empty to finish the season 0-7 on the road.
 
The Griffins got on the board when Skyler Kjellander found the back of the net at the 11:32 mark. Westminster then scored a pair of goals near the 21st minute to take a 3-0 lead. The Hardrockers would go into the locker room at half down 3-0.
 
In the second half, Westminster scored two goals to go up 5-0. The Hardrockers were able to break their 5-match scoreless streak, getting on the board in the 87th minute when Hayden Jaramillo passed to George Martinez who found the back of the net for his 7th time of the season. The match would end in the favor of Westminster, 5-1.
 
The Hardrockers had six shots with three on goal. The Griffons took 15 shots with 8 on goal. The loss puts the Rockers with a 1-13-1 record and 0-8 in the RMAC.
 
Looking Ahead
The Hardrockers will be home next weekend with their final two games of the season. First, on Friday at 2 p.m. they take on Adams State. Then, on senior night the Hardrockers battle Fort Lewis college on Halloween, Sunday, October 31st at 11:00 a.m.
