RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines men's soccer team faced off with the University of Colorado at Colorado Spring in an early contest on Sunday.
At the beginning of the match, UCCS had all of the momentum, forcing
Tyler Ring to make a trio of early saves, before the Hardrockers would settle down, earn a couple of corners and start getting off their heels. Both teams would have opportunities to score throughout the half, however, it was UCCS who would capitalize in the 37
th minute to take a 1-0 lead, and that is the way it would stay.
Despite battling in the second half, and getting lots of possession time as well as chance, the Hardrockers would not be able to convert, giving the Mountain Lions a 1-0 victory.
Leaders:
The Hardrockers were outshot 15-6, however, both teams had 6 shots on goal.
Tyler Ring made 6 saves for the Hardrockers.
George Martinez led the team with three shots and two on goal.

Next weekend, the Soccer team is back on the road as they travel to Colorado School of Mines, and Colorado Christian on Friday and Sunday at 5:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m.
