RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines men's soccer team took on Regis University on Friday night absent of its' head coach and it was all Regis from the beginning.
Regis scored 2 goals in the first 6 minutes, to take an early 2-0 lead. The Hardrockers did show some life, scoring a goal of their own when George Martinez netted his fifth of the season. Regis would score two more times before the end of the half, taking a 4-1 lead to the locker room.
In the second half, The Hardrockers played well early but were not able to score, then the flood gates opened up, with Regis scoring 3 more goals in the final 20 minutes to win the game 7-1.
Looking Ahead
The Hardrockers with the head coach in tow will head to Denver to take on MSU Denver for a noon matchup on Sunday.
