RAPID CITY, S.D. --- Fresh off a big victory over Regis University, the South Dakota Mines men's basketball will settle in for a big weekend home stand in Goodell Gymnasium against the program's biggest rivals – Chadron State and Black Hills State.

The Hardrockers finally had a home game last weekend and made it a good one, defeating the RU Rangers, 74-70 --- which was a first-ever win over Regis in program history. The victory gave the 'Rockers a 4-4 overall record and 4-4 mark in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

South Dakota Mines heads into this portion of the season scoring 66 ppg and allowing opponents 72.8. The Hardrockers have improved their shooting percentage and are registering 45 percent from the field and hitting 31 percent of three-pointers attempted.

Individually for SDM, Wilfred Dickson leads the squad averaging 12.5 ppg while Brevin Walter and Alejandro Rama are both contributing with just over 10 ppg. Kolten Mortensen puts up 9.8 ppg and is the team's leading rebounder with 8.5 rpg.

Chadron State is next on the schedule. The Eagles come to Rapid City with a 3-3 overall mark and 3-3 in the RMAC.  The Chadron State men have added two players recently.  They are Deundra Roberson, a 6-footer from Columbia Heights, Minn., and 6-4 Bryant Jefferson from Palo Alto, Calif. Roberson made a huge contribution during the Eagles' 85-73 win over Western Colorado by making seven of nine field goal shots, three of them 3-pointers, while scoring 18 points.
