RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines women's basketball team dialed up another win Friday night and extended its winning streak to eight as the Hardrockers defeated the Chadron State Eagles, 73-45, during a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup at the King Center in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The 'Rockers met little resistance, jumping out to a 24-6 edge and the first quarter, and then bettered Chadron, 18-8 in the second frame and went into halftime up by 42-14. In the second half, both squads posted 31 markers each as the home team won by 48 points.
The Eagles shot 33.3 percent (19-57) in the game. They made two of 16 three-point attempts for 12.5 percent and were five of eight from the charity stripe. The Hardrockers finished 29-67 (43.3 percent) from the field. S.D. Mines finished 14 of 33 from behind the arc and were only one of five from the free throw line.
 
CSC had 15 turnovers in the loss, which resulted in 22 points for their opponent. Chadron State was outrebounded 47-31 in the loss.
Four players scored in double-figures for South Dakota Mines. 
Ryan Weiss scored a game high 21 points. Sami Steffek and 
Naomi Hidalgo each scored 11 and 
Michaela Shaklee had 10.
