RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines women's basketball team put together a nice second-half scoring run and turned away the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Mountain Lions, 66-59, Friday night during a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game at the King Center in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Taylor Molstad reached a milestone in breaching the 1,000-point mark in her career at SD Mines. Needing 18 points to reach 1,000, Molstad dished in 22 markers an helped her team win the bout.
Molstad, a Rapid City native, becomes the 27 Lady Hardrocker to accomplish this feat.
After trailing 16-11 in the first quarter, the Hardrockers erased the deficit and ran out to a 32-25 advantage at halftime. SD Mines maintained a five-point edge after the third quarter, 45-40, and then poured in on in the fourth quarter, leading by as many as 10 points, 66-56, with just under a minute left in the game.
The 'Rockers finished the game shooting 50 percent from the field hitting 26-52 attempts, including 8-20 from downtown and added 6-10 from the foul line. SD Mines hauled in 28 rebounds, notched 18 assists, 11 steals and one blocked shot.
UCCS made good on 26-56 on field goals, including 4-19 from three-point range. They added 3-5 on free throws, collected 32 rebounds, 14 assists, eight steals and three blocked shots.
Molstad added five rebounds, four assists and one steal to her 22 points to lead SD Mines.
Sami Steffeck added 14 points, two rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Anna Combalia cashed in for 11 markers, one rebound, one assist and two steals.
Anna Haugen recorded a double-double on the night with 10 points and 11 rebounds and added five assists, five steals and one blocked shot.
