SD Mines Men Bounce Back, Blow Away Dustdevils, 91-66

LAREDO, TEXAS – After a one-point loss Friday night, the South Dakota School of Mines Hardrockers bounced back nicely on Saturday to defeat the Texas A&M Dustdevils, 91-66, during a non-conference game at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference vs. Lone Star Conference Crossover Tournament in Laredo, Texas.

The Hardrockers jumped out to a 45-30 advantage in the first half of action Saturday and then outscored the home team, 46-36, over the final 20 minutes.

The Hardrockers set a new team record during the game, making good on 19 three-pointers. Jack Fiddler led the way with seven made, Wilfred Dickson and Alejandro Rama both had four, Troy Brady had two and Allec Williams and Mitchell Sueker each were credited with one.

SD Mines made good on 19 of 35 attempted to shoot 54.3 percent from downtown. The old Hardrocker record was 17 made three's in a game. That was done twice (during the 1991-92 season against Sioux Falls and then again during the 2016-17 season vs. New Mexico Highlands).

The Hardrockers finished the game making good on 32-58 attempts to shoot 55.2 percent on the night. They were 8-15 from the free throw line, collected 38 rebounds, had 22 assists four steals and two blocks.
The Dustdevils shot 44.4 percent in the game converting 24-54. They were 9-13 from the foul line, grabbed 21 rebounds, had 14 assists and nine steals.

With Fiddler making in rain, he was the leading scorer in the game with 25 points, one assist, four rebounds and one block. Rama cashed in for 17 points, two rebounds, one steal and one assist; while Dickson duplicated his point-production from Friday with another 15 markers to go along with his four rebounds, one steal and one assist.

Brady, Logan Elers and Sueker all contributed with eight points each.
