SD Mines VB Team Makes Final Road Trip Of Season

The South Dakota School of Mines volleyball team will hit the road this weekend to take on two RMAC opponents.
 
The Hardrockers will face the Roadrunners of MSU Denver on Friday night in Denver. The last time that the two met up this season, the 'Rockers handed the Roadrunners their first RMAC loss of the season as the Hardrockers took the match 3-1. Metro State is 17-6 overall and 12-2 in RMAC play. They have posted 1104 on the season while hitting .229. Outside hitter Kayla White leads the Roadrunners with 247 kills this season. They are coming off a tough 0-3 loss to Regis on Tuesday night.
 
On Saturday night, the 'Rockers will travel to Chadron, NE to face the Chadron Eagles. The two teams have faced off twice this season and both games were won by the Eagles in 5 sets. Overall the Eagles are 13-9 and 7-7 in conference play. They have tallied 1079 kills on the season with a .179 team hitting percentage.  Rylee Greiman and Shelby Schouten lead the Eagles with 228 and 221 total kills. Eagle libero Ashton Burditt leads the RMAC in digs per set while totaling 539 this season.

The Hardrockers currently sit tied for 10th in the RMAC standings and are 10-14 overall. They have tallied 1199 kills on the season while maintaining a .185 team hitting percentage. The 'Rockers currently average 12.2 kills per set. Dana Thomson leads all hitters with 418 kills on the season and leads the RMAC in kills per set. Jacey Koethe leads the team in blocks as she has totaled 91 on the season while averaging .94 blocks per set.
