RAPID CITY, S.D. --- After what could have been the biggest win in program history this past weekend, the South Dakota School of Mines women's volleyball team will travel to Spearfish, South Dakota, Tuesday night for a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rivalry match against Black Hills State at 7 p.m. in the Young Center.
The Hardrockers are coming off a huge upset win over the No. 23 Colorado School of Mines, in which they won, 3-2. In the match the Hardrockers lost the first two sets and came back to win the third closely, 27-25. They then went on and won the fourth and fifth sets to take the first-ever win over their Colorado counterparts. It was also the first time SD Mines has defeated a national ranked team in the NCAA DIv. II era.
SD Mines is now 7-8 on the season and 3-3 in conference play while Black Hills State is 5-8 on the year and 4-2 in the RMAC.
After falling to the Orediggers, the Yellow Jackets are coming fresh off a Saturday night victory over UCCS on the weekend.
A late push during the third set of the match, BHSU went on to win 27-25, taking a two-set lead in the match and would not look back.
