'Rockers Set To Begin RMAC Home Stand Against FLC, Adams

The South Dakota School of Mines volleyball team is set to host Fort Lewis and Adams State in a crucial weekend of RMAC play.
 
After coming off of their fifth consecutive 1-1 weekend in RMAC play, the Hardrockers look to complete their first weekend sweep in RMAC play.
 
The Hardrockers are 9-11 overall and 5-6 in RMAC play. They have posted a total of 989 kills on the season while averaging 12.2 kills per set. The 'Rockers have also posted a cumulative hitting percentage of .183 on the season. Dana Thomson is coming off a huge weekend where she posted 48 kills over a span of 2 matches. Thomson currently leads all Hardrockers with 338 kills. Freshman middle blocker Jacey Koethe has continued to grow in her role as a starter for the Hardrockers as she tallied 21 kills last weekend and has a total of 148 on the season while also chipping in a team high 75 blocks. The 'Rocker defense is currently averaging 16.6 digs per set and is paced by freshman libero Anna Thomas who is averaging 5.54 digs per set.
 
Friday night the Hardrockers will face the Fort Lewis Skyhawks at 7pm. They are 8-12 on the season and 4-7 in RMAC play. The Skyhawks are coming off a 1-1 weekend in RMAC play where they won a 5-set match over Colorado Christian. The Skyhawk offense has tallied 749 kills on the season with a .128 team hitting percentage. Middle blocker Bailey Longacre and outside hitter Ohiyah Shirley lead the Skyhawks with 167 and 128 kills.  Payton Harmann coordinates the Skyhawk offense as she has posted 468 assists on the season.

Fort Lewis currently averaging 9.9 kills per set and 15.6 digs per set.
 
Saturday night, the Hardrockers take on the Adams State Grizzles. The Grizzles are currently 7-13 overall with a 4-7 conference record. They are coming off a 0-2 weekend in RMAC play after dropping a 5-set heartbreaker to CCU on Saturday night. The Grizzlies have posted 760 kills on the season while maintaining a .165 hitting percentage. Outside hitter Hannah Goddard currently leads the Grizzies in kills with 172 kills on the season. Middle blocker Shannon Mulkey and outside hitter Riley Ogelvie sit right behind Goddard with 137 and 129 kills. Bailey Scholsser paces the Grizzlie offense with 425 assists this season. Adams State is currently averaging 14.9 digs per set, behind the defensive efforts of Mackenzie Swanson in the libero position.
 
 
Saturday night's match will serve as Parent's Night and Hardrocker Volleyball parents will be honored prior to the match.
