SPEARFISH, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines women's volleyball team traveled up Interstate 90 to close out the 2018 season against the Hadrockers biggest rivals --- the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets --- Friday night at the Young Center during a Rock Mountain Athletic Conference match.
The Hardrockers played a very competitive bout, but the Yellow Jackets were able to hold off the determined visitors to win the bout, 3-0. BHSU defeated SD Mines, 25-23, 25-20, 25-20.
The 'Rockers ended the match with 33 kills on 148 attacks, collected 31 assists, 68 digs, and eight total blocks. BHSU finished with 43 kills on 144 attacks, 41 assists, 77 digs and six total blocks.
SD Mines was led by
Anna Breidt, who in her final college match, had a .233 hitting percentage notching 12 kills on 30 attacks, five digs, two assisted blocks and one solo block. Freshman
Dana Thomson tacked on eight kills from 44 attacks, nine digs and one assisted block. Senior
Darla Drenckhahn and junior
Hannah Stevenson both contributed with four kills each.

Allie Boggs added 11. Sophomore
Tana Dahlberg led the Hardrockers with 25 digs and senior
Alye Wagner contributed with 15 digs.
