RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines women's volleyball team played host to the Colorado Mesa Mavericks Friday night in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference match at the King Center in Rapid City.
The Hardrockers were very solid as they faced the RMAC's No. 3 ranked team and competed hard in each set, but the Mavericks always seemed to find way to come out on top in the later part of each game. CMU won the match, 3-0. The Mavericks defeated SD Mines, 25-21, 25-19, 25-12.
The Hardrockers closed out the match with 32 kills on 115 attacks for a .104 hitting percentage. The home team added 31 assists, two service aces, four total blocks and 42 digs. Mesa closed out the bout with 45 kills on 110 attacks for a .309 hitting percentage. They added 44 assists, three aces, 10 total blocks and 55 digs.
Individually for the 'Rockers, senior
Anna Breidt paced her team with 12 kills on 28 attacks for a .321 hitting percentage. Freshman
Dana Thomson was also solid Friday with 11 kills on 43 attacks and sophomore
Rayleigh Peterson contributed with six kills on 15 attacks.

Shyann Bastian had 24 of the team's 31 assists and sophomore
Tana Dahlberg led the 'Rockers with 10 digs.
