DENVER, Colo. --- The South Dakota School of Mines women's volleyball team got the result they were after early Friday making short work of Johnson and Wales University, dispatching the Wildcats in straight sets, 3-0, in a non-conference match in Denver, Colo.
The Hardrockers defeated JWU, 25-12, 25-14, 26-24. SD Mines saw every healthy Hardrocker athlete enter the game (18 student-athletes) on their way to the JWU blanking. The Hardrockers finished the match with 35 kills and had a .202 hitting percentage. The visitors tallied 32 assists, 51 digs and recorded 14 total blocks. The Wildcats ended the bout with 22 kills, a -.057 hitting percentage, 20 assists, 37 digs and two total blocks.
Individually for the Hardrockers, junior Justine Langus and freshman
Lily Lundquist both led the charge for their team with seven kills each. Lundquist had a .365 hitting percentage and Langus finished with a .222. The assists were also spread out as sophomore

Cassandra Williams and freshman
Emma Eckel all notched eight assists. Sophomore Makinze Maiden and Williams both led the team with 11 digs each. Lundquist also had six assisted and one solo block in the match.
The win lifts SD Mines to 2-14 on the season and will get right back into Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Friday night when the Hardrockers challenge the No. 10 ranked Regis Rangers in Denver at 7 p.m.
