RAPID CITY, S.D. --- After a tough loss to rival Black Hills State Tuesday night, the South Dakota School of Mines women's volleyball team will look to find their groove against the Westminster College Lady Griffins this weekend during Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play in Utah.
The Lady Hardrockers competed well against The Yellow Jackets on Tuesday, but couldn't quite get over the hump, falling to BHSU 3-0. The Hardrockers led the way in several categories in the match with kills (38), assists (35), and digs (50).
It was a tough loss, but the Lady 'Rockers showed flashes of greatness and competed very well against their long-time rivals.
As for the Westminster Griffins, they are coming into this match on a three-game losing streak. Their last win was against Chadron State last weekend in Nebraska.
Westminster will rely heavily on freshman Audrey Green as she leads the Griffins in points scored (156.5). Eyes will need to be on senior Taylor Gustafson being the assist leader for her team (315). The ardrockers will want to keep the ball away from the Griffins Middle Blocker Amara Spere who leads her team with 34 blocks.
The Lady Rockers' aren't one to sleep on either. They will be going to Salt Lake City looking for a battle and they'll be ready to test the Griffins.
