'Rockers Ready For First RMAC Matchup

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The Hardrocker football team hits the road for St. George, Utah, this weekend for a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup against Dixie State.  This will be the Hardrockers' first ever RMAC football game, and should be a very competitive one at that.

"Good first win for our boys," said Hardrocker football head coach Zach Tinker.  "Now, we are getting excited for our first RMAC competition."

The Hardrockers won their opening matchup in a "High Octane" fashion, as SD Mines outscored William Jewell, 64-41. Dixie State is coming off of a 21-14 win over New Mexico Highlands. It will be interesting to see which team can remain unbeaten through the second week.

"We are very familiar with Dixie State, they are a very talented team. The biggest difference for us is that they are a very big and physical team," Tinker said. "They are a really good challenge for us, but I know we are anxious to start RMAC play."

Tinker added that one of the strengths of his team is speed, and that the Hardrockers will hope to use their mobility to combat the size of Dixie State.?
