'Rocker Netters Back On the Road This Weekend

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines volleyball team will have its fourth and fifth consecutive away games this weekend after traveling to play New Mexico Highlands, Colorado State-Pueblo and Dickinson State over the last week.
 
Friday the Lady Rockers travel to Lakewood, Colo., to take on Colorado Christian. CCU has a 9-5 overall record and enters this contest after winning two straight without dropping a single set. The Cougars are ranked seventh in the RMAC standings.
 
CCU is fourth in the conference in blocks, with 96.5 total and averaging just over two per set. The Cougars also excel at serving as they have racked up 72 aces this season for second place in the RMAC. CCU is also second in the conference averaging 17.25 digs per set.
 
On Saturday, SD Mines will match up against Colorado Mines. The Orediggers have most recently been ranked 16th nationally and is 4-0 in the RMAC and have a 10-2 overall. Colorado Mines is atop the conference standings. The Orediggers lead the RMAC in hitting percentage (.248) and in assists (557). Colorado Mines also has the RMAC's top kill getter as Alanna Winfield is averaging 4.12 kills a game.
 
 The Lady 'Rockers (1-13), who fell to New Mexico Highlands and Colorado Mesa last weekend, followed by a disappointing upset at the hand of Dickinson State on Tuesday will look to pick up their first conference win of the season.?
