No. 20 MSU-Denver Defeats SD Mines Netter, 3-0

DENVER, Colo. --- The South Dakota School of Mines women's volleyball team ran into a solid MSU-Denver squad Friday night where the No. 20 ranked Roadrunners defeated the Hardrockers 3-0.

MSU-Denver defeated SD Mines, 25-10, 25-11, 27-25. The Hardrockers tallied 29 kills in the match and was 77-89 on the attack with 28 assists, 28 digs and two blocks. MSU-Denver finished with 48 kills, was 82-94 on the attack with 44 assists, 39 digs and three total blocks.

We solved our third set issue tonight," said Hardrocker volleyball head coach Doug Tabbert. "We were in that set the entire time and against their starters.  We did a ton of things well.  It was a very good response to the way we played in the first two sets."

Individually for SD Mines, freshman Kenzie Devries paced her team with nine kills and was 19-23 on the attack while sophomore Anna Breidt and junior Emily Newton both contributed with five kills. Sophomore Elizabeth Jensen racked up 21 of the team's 28 assists and freshman Caryn Hazard led the team with nine digs.

The loss drop SD Mines to 1-23 on the season and 0-13 in the RMAC. Next up the Hardrockers take on UCCS in a 5 p.m. showdown in Colorado Springs, Colo.
