Michael McCulley

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
  • Michael McCulley is in his sixth season at South Dakota Mines. He serves as the cornerbacks coach.
  • In McCulley's first four years, the pass defense improved from 10th in the RMAC to 6th.
  • During his time as cornerbacks coach, six defensive backs have earned All-RMAC honors.
  • In 2023, Kaleb Tischler was named RMAC All-Confernece Honorable Mention.
  • Following the 2022 season, Adrian Eastman earned RMAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.
  • The Hardrockers defense allowed opponents to complete just 56.4% of their passes in 2022, second in the RMAC.
  • In 2021, South Dakota Mines finished fourth in interceptions with 13, led by defensive backs Kaleb Tischler and Kendahl Johnson with five and three, respectively.
  • South Dakota Mines tied for the lead in the RMAC with five interceptions in the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season., led by corners Tony Monroe Jr. and Dominick Jackson.
  • Dominick Jackson led the team with three interceptions in 2019, finishing 10th in the RMAC.
  • Prior to joining the staff at South Dakota Mines McCulley coached football and baseball at Central High School in Rapid City for several years including as the head baseball coach from 2014-2017.
  • McCulley was a four-year letter winner and graduated from Chadron State College (2008) with a bachelor’s degree, before going on to earn his master’s degree from Southwest Minnesota State University (2010).
