Ashley Von Eye is in her first year as the head coach for South Dakota Mines Cheerleading.
Before becoming the head cheer coach at South Dakota Mines, Von Eye most recently volunteered with a local high school dance team from 2019-2020.
For three years, from 2017-2019 Von Eye directed the cheer program for the Black Hills Youth Football League. Before being named director, Von Eye coached sideline cheer and competition dance for the organization, working mostly with children aged 5-12 years old.
As an athlete Von Eye started her cheer career in 8th grade, attending summer camps put on by the National Cheerleading Association, even winning the award for best jumps. Von Eye also spent the remainder of her high school career as a football and men's basketball cheerleader in addition to being a part of the dance team.
Von Eye got her cosmetology license at the Salon Professional Academy for Cosmetology.
Von Eye and her husband, along with 2 children reside in Rapid City.
