RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines golf team has announced 6 signings for the 2022 class with head coach Luke Wheeler announcing the addition of Ramey Lloyd, Reece Mayala, and Caeden Ekroth as male athletes and Summer Christiansen, Taylor Ullen, and Megan Alexander as female athletes.

Overall, I feel that we have included 6 quality scholar-athletes to the roster for the 22-23 season," said Wheeler. "I look for each of these golfers to step up and compete right away as freshman as they are the future of Hardrocker golf, and I believe they will continue the success that we've had the past couple of seasons."

Ramey Lloyd out of Bozeman, Mont. and Gallatin High School plans to major in mechanical engineering. Ramey was an All-State and All-Academic selection.

"Ramey is a talented scholar-athlete and was one of the top golfers in the state of Montana for this class and I'm hoping to see big things from him on the course and in the classroom, said Wheeler."

Reece Mayala is another that hails from Montana. At Billings High School, he was an All-State performer in addition to being named Academic All-State.

Wheeler is excited to add Reece, stating "He is consistently in the low to mid 70's and I expect him to be a big part of the growth of Hardrocker Golf."

Caeden Ekroth is the third and final male student-athlete joining the program for the 2022 season.

Wheeler is excited to add a home state student-athlete to the roster, saying "Caeden is an exceptional scholar-athlete from our backyard, and I am looking forward to the impact he will make in the classroom and on the course."

Summer Christiansen is one of the three females joining the program and she was on the honor roll and national honors society all four years of her high school career in addition to being one of the top golfers in the state of Nebraska.

"Summer finished near the top of the field at the state championships in Nebraska the last couple of years and is someone who I expect to come in and compete for a spot in the lineup right away, stated Wheeler."

Taylor Ullen will join the program from the state of Minnesota and will major in chemical engineering and has been consistently near the top of the state in on course performance.

"Taylor has been one of the best golfers in the state of Minnesota since seventh grade and I anticipate that she will make a big impact during her career as a Hardrocker."

Megan Alexander will join the golf team as a multi-sport athlete as she will be suiting up for the women's basketball team as well. A Wisconsin product, Wheeler stated "despite being new to the game there has been a ton of improvement. She is a hard worker and exceptional athlete, and it will be fun to see the growth during her career."

Each of the 6 student-athletes will join the program for the 2022 season.
