Men's Golf Starts Slow Before Bouncing Back

EDMOND, Ok. --- In heavy wind conditions, the South Dakota Mines men's golf team struggled in the fist 18-holes before bouncing back in the second 18.

In the first 18-holes, the Hardrockers were led by their #5 Roger Nakagawa shooting a +2, 72. Jake Francis shot a 77, meanwhile, Joseph Vincent shot an 80, Lane Jensen shot an 86, and Bryce Howard shot a very uncharacteristic 92.

In the second 18, the Hardrockers shot a 306 which would have put them in a tie for 12th. Bryce Howard was back to his normal play, shooting a 71 to lead the team. He was joined by Joseph Vincent shooting a 2-over 72. Lane Jensen, Roger Nakagawa, and Jake Francis all shot in the low 80's (81, 82, and 83) respectively.

The final of the 54-holes tees-off with another shotgun start, tomorrow morning at 9:00 A.M. All the results can be followed on golfstat.
