Hardrocker T&F, XC Programs Add Recruits

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines track & field and cross country programs and head coach Steve Johnson are pleased to welcome new recruits Tierney Robinson, Ryley Darnell and Lindsay Butler to the Hardrocker Family announced Wednesday from SD Mines campus.

"We're very excited about kicking off our 2020 recruiting class with these 3 young ladies," Johnson said.

Robinson is from Casper, Wyoming where she attended Kelly Walsh High School where she specialized in the jumping events.

"Tierney was one of the Top 5 juniors in Wyoming last spring and showed remarkable consistency in the long jump," Johnson said.

Darnell and Butler will become Hardrockers next season competing on both the cross country and track & field teams. Darnell is from Westminster, Colorado, where she attended Standley Lake High School and Butler comes to SD Mines from Spokane, Washington where she competed for Lewis and Clark High School.

"Ryley and Lindsay are coming off very strong cross country seasons and show tremendous aptitude for the longer distances in college," Johnson said. "There's no doubt they will help us become more competitive in the RMAC and we're looking forward to getting them onto campus next fall."
